Music Video Practise Question
Explain one way in which music videos use media language to differ from each other. Refer to one example of contrasting media language in 2 music videos you have studied to support your answer. The music video's use media language such as the characters, camera angles and colour to fit the meaning of the song. sk8er boi and Teenage dirtbag both have similarities and differences. In sk8er boi they are stereotyping the clothes they wear they are roughly all the same. In sk8er boi they use different narratives to refer to skaters in the music video, such as bmx and skating in abandoned buildings, which uses a low angle shot.They have a birds eye view angle, jumping up and down on the car, to add effect of the singer that is underneath the camera. In teenage dirtbag, they use low angle shots to get an effect from a character in the music video. an example of this is when they used a low angle shot to make the scene feel threatening.
